I.V. Nutrition Therapy

The history of I.V. nutrition therapy began in 1968. This area of medicine also known as regenerative medicine focuses on repairing damages in the body, caused by natural and manmade causes.

The human body is constantly repairing injuries to itself caused by free radicals, chemical attacks, radiation, and pollution. These injuries must be repaired to maintain optimal health. The natural process of aging decreases the efficacy of the body’s natural repair mechanisms. Regenerative medicine is an attempt to aid this restoration and the natural process of renewal. The combined benefits produced by both nutritional supplementation and regeneration medicine can provide significant health benefits.

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)

Ascorbic Acid, also known as vitamin C, is one of the most important water-soluble vitamins. It is commonly used in I.V. nutrition therapy as an antioxidant and to boost the immune system. Ascorbic acid aids in wound healing, immunotherapy, heart health, and reducing oxidative stress as well as assists the body in fighting viral infections. Vitamin C is required for the synthesis of collagen, an important component of blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, and bone. It also plays a role in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, which are central to brain function.

Method:                                  I.V.

Duration:                                Approx. 1-2 hours

Frequency:                            1-8 times per month

Indications:        Fatigue, depression, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular disease, detoxification, allergies, migraines, athletic training, cancer support, inflammation, stress, acute and chronic viral infections.

Glutathione

Glutathione is the body’s most powerful natural antioxidant and is found in every cell in the body. Glutathione excels in five areas that benefit the human body. 1) It can enhance the immune system. 2) It’s an excellent antioxidant and protects the cells from free radicals. 3) It’s a powerful regulator of other antioxidants in the cell (such as vitamin C and E). 4) It’s an excellent detoxification agent and helps remove toxic compounds from the cell. 5) It plays a vital role in numerous metabolic and repair processes including protein, hormone, and enzyme activation. Glutathione stores decline as we age along due to exposure to drugs and environmental toxins.

Method:                                 I.V.

Duration:                                Approx. 1 hour

Frequency:                            1-3 times per week or less

Indications:        Immune support, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, autoimmune disease, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, high blood pressure, diabetes, and chronic fatigue.

Hydroxocobalamin (Vitamin B12)

Hydroxocobalamin is the natural form of vitamin B12 and is a cofactor in two very important mitochondrial processes. Hydroxocobalamin is a water-soluble vitamin that keeps nerves and red blood cells healthy. It is responsible for the function of several critical body processes. It is possible for the body to develop a vitamin B12 deficiency. This deficiency is usually reported with symptoms of fatigue. Vitamin B12 benefits your mood, energy level, memory, heart, skin, hair, digestion, and more. Even patients with normal vitamin B12 levels may report enhanced energy and well-being from B12 Injections.

Method:                                  Injection

Duration:                                2-5 minutes

Frequency:                            Weekly or less

Indications:        Pernicious anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, poor memory, fatigue, neuropathy, stress, toxic amblyopia, and accumulation of toxins, i.e. heavy metals (encourages detox).

Kenalog-40

Kenalog-40 treats inflammation in a number of different disorders, such as arthritis, bursitis, or tendonitis. It may also be used to treat asthma, allergic reactions, skin problems, or chronic pain. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Kenalog-40 suspension is a corticosteroid. Exactly how it works to decrease irritation and swelling is not known, but it has a wide range of effects at the cell level. This relieves the discomfort caused by inflammation.

Method:                                 Injection

Duration:                                2-5 minutes

Frequency:                            Varies

Indications:        Asthma and allergies.

Lipo-C

Lipo-C is a mixture of nutrients that aid the body in losing unwanted body fat. These nutrients include B-vitamins and Fat Burning Amino Acids. Lipo-C injections consist of the following ingredients along with their benefits:

Choline: Metabolizes fat. The deficiency of Choline can lead to fatty degeneration of the liver and hardening of the arteries. Inositol: Deficiency of Inositol can lead to hair loss. It stimulates the metabolism of fat in the liver and benefits anxiety and depression. Caffeine may cause depletion of Inositol. Methionine: It works with Choline to detoxify amines, which are the by-products of protein metabolism. Along with Choline and Inositol, it aids in reducing liver fat and protects the kidneys. Carnitine: Aids in the production of energy. Carnitine has also been shown to reduce fatigue and serve as an appetite suppressant. Vitamin B1 plays a central role in the generation of energy from carbohydrates. Vitamin B5 is involved in the oxidation of fatty acids and carbohydrates. Vitamin B12 is involved in the cellular metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids.

Method:                                 Injection

Duration:                                2-5 minutes

Frequency:                            Weekly

*Note:   Lipo-C must be used along with a nutritious reduced-calorie diet plan to facilitate weight loss.

Myer’s Cocktail

Meyer’s cocktail consists of B-complex, Calcium Gluconate, Magnesium, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid).

The Myer’s Cocktail works by increasing the blood concentration of several essential vitamins and minerals beyond that which can be achieved when supplementing orally. The idea is that many illnesses and conditions are associated with digestive disturbances such as bloating, indigestion, and food sensitivities and that people with such conditions may not absorb many of the nutrients needed to return them to good health. When nutrients are given intravenously, the digestion is bypassed. ADDITIONALLY, the levels in the bloodstream are temporarily increased so that the nutrients are “coaxed” into the cells. This temporary boost frequently “kick-starts” the cells, so that energy is produced more efficiently in them.

Method:                                 I.V.

Duration:                                Approx. 1 hour

Frequency:                            Weekly or less

Indications:        Upper respiratory infections, acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue, fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, seasonal allergies, cancer, inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and depression.

Vitamin B-Complex

Vitamin B Complex is beneficial for overall health. Some of the essential vitamins in this group are thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), Cobalamine (B12), biotin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, and choline are included.

Some Vitamin B Complex’s benefits include amplified energy, increased focus, and concentration, healthier hair, skin, nails, and eyes. These vitamins are very important for the proper functioning of the nervous and for the immune system.

Vitamin B Complex is an excellent stress buster and increases our resistance to stress. It also aids DNA and RNA synthesis as well as cell reproduction.

Method:                                 Injection

Duration:                                2-5 minutes
